Open Communication, University debate network, was founded in Belgrade, in 1997, both by students and professors. For 13 years, OK has worked tirelessly in promoting debate as a fundamental instrument for developing critical thinking, argumented idea presentations and non-viloent dialogue. Over a thousand students went through our programs in that time, many of whom are now employed in prestiguous institutions.

Today, Open Communication encompasses 4 debate clubs, Law Faculty Debate Club being the first one to form, back in 1997, followed by clubs at Faculty of Political sciences and Faculty of Organizational sciences. The Faculty of Economics debate club was established in 2010.

Open Communication is a recognized member of International Debate Education Association (IDEA), with the Serbian representative in the European Universities Debating Council, currently holding the office of Vice President. Through international tournaments and seminars, OK also successfully cooperates with numerous international, regional and local organizations (World Debate Institute, English Speaking Union, University of Oxford, Za in Proti Slovenija, AEGEE, Belgrade Open School, University of Baltimore, OSCE Mission in Serbia, European Comission, Embassy of the United Kingdom, United States embassy etc.)

The primary goals and activities of our organization include promoting debate through faculty-based clubs; organizing seminars, debate tournaments and debate academies; organizing expert lectures, panel discussions and public debates; pursuing all forms of tolerant, rational and open communication to promote it as political and educational means, as well as a powerful tool for civil initiative and action. Organizing public debates has been one of the priorities of Open Communication for the last several years. Raising public awareness is one of the crucial aims of our organization, as well as educating students and the society as a whole that peaceful communication through arguments is more efficient, more creative and will bring them closer to their goals.


AIAT - Association of Environmental and Planning Engineers; Italy

AIAT - Association of Environmental and Planning Engineers, is a non-profit organisation composed of environmental engineering professionals and university students of different Italian universities. Among its goals, promoting and spreading environmental education and awareness plays a key role; this is implemented by promoting and organizing events of different nature, including workshops, seminars and conferences, site visits and excursion to relevant facilities, both at Italian and international level. Its fields of activity cover various sectors, ranging from recycling and waste treatment to clean energy production, from climate change and global warming to risk and safety, as well as environmental management and water cycle issues. For each of these and other environment - related sectors, AIAT has practitioners with specific expertise in the relevant area. AIAT is funded only by the fees paid by its member, therefore ensuring impartiality and fairness in its activities.

David is a 22 years old student who has been working with graffiti for over ten years. He has participated in numerous graffiti events, workshops and festivals in Europe (Amsterdam, Brussels, Paris, Valencia, Prague, etc).


Wave Magazine; Serbia

WAVE magazine is an international youth web magazine, a project run and led by youth organization "World Youth Wave" from Belgrade, Serbia. It is a monthly magazine, publishing one issue every 10th in a month, and the first issue was launched in November 2006. About 30 people is gathered in its international team of young journalists, translators, web programmers. Informal motto is – „Young people write for young readers“ and the basic idea is to offer young people chance to experience and learn journalism from their older colleagues and professionals, but also to offer quality investigative journalistic content from a different point of. Youth are the main target group but the plans are also to attract different kind of readers.

WAVE magazine has a very good international cooperation – with European Youth Press and different associations of young journalists, but also with different students and youth organizations in Serbia. Number of visits on the website is constantly rising and at the moment – there are about 25 – 30 000 unique visits per month.

WAVE Team was in charge for Media Workshop during International Student Week in Belgrade 2007, 2009 and 2010. Also, WAVE magazine is a media partner of FIST – Festival of International Students Theatre in Belgrade, and supports humanitarian action „Smile for everyone“.


Dorin Săndulescu; Romania

Dorin Săndulescu is a certified NLP (Neuro-Linguistic Programming) Master Practitioner, coach and trainer. As founder of a training and consulting company, Dorin is dedicated to empowering people to take control over their lives and achieve the success they want.
He has had the opportunity to coach clients on various aspects of their lives, helping them to succesfully overcome difficulties and supporting their personal growth. Having also participated in many international student courses and conferences over the past 5 years, Dorin claims that travelling and getting to know people from various countries and cultures is a life-changing experience by itself, one that can inspire and change people in the most positive of ways.


Serbian Green Youth; Serbia

Serbian Green Youth was founded by a group of young enthusiasts who have actively worked on the promotion of the green idea since September 2000. The main goal of their actions is primarily aimed to reach social and environmental justice, promotion of youth activism, non violence, as well as directing public attention to a great number of the neglected problems in our everyday society. They tackle climate changes and trees protection, xenophobia and non violence, etc. For the purpose of realizing all the ideas in the previous years, a series of platforms, seminars, campaigns and street actions have been organized and implemented.

Since 2001, Serbian Green Youth has been a member of FYEG - Federation of Young European Greens, with whom they have been actively cooperating at numerous seminars, summer camps and youth exchanges.


Marketing Workshop; Serbia

"Marketing workshop" is a non-profit organization founded by students from the Faculty of Economics, about 10 years ago. Many students have passed through this organization, improving practical knowledge, showing their creativity and ideas. The main goal of the "Marketing workshop" is to help students discover and develop their potentials.

Members of the "Marketing workshop" are working in marketing, research and economics-knowledge-development projects. Major projects, that we are working on include: "Advertizing night" (Fund-raising events - 2 nights of best commercials), "Praxis" (connecting employers with students; creating a job market), "Student attitudes research", etc.


Nina and Lukas; Slovenia

They are from Ljubljana and are involved in impro theatre for many years. Both of them took improved classes, played in long forms and theater plays. Also, they are working on raising popularity of improvisation theatre across Slovenia and Europe.


Experimentáculo Associação Cultural & Low Cost Filmes; Portugal

The youth association Experimentáculo Associação Cultural is a non-Governmental organization with the mission to promote culture, art and patrimony. Experimentáculo was founded in 2006, in Setúbal, Portugal, and, since then, has been implemented more than 100 projects and activities. Experimentáculo promotes concerts, movie festivals, produces documentaries and short-movies and gives formation on those areas.

The workshop will be lectured by the director and editor Antonio Aleixo and the designer and editor Fabio Vicente, from Low Cost Filmes. Low Cost Filmes is a Portuguese film and video production company from Setubal and you can find more about them at www.lowcostfilmes.pt


AEGEE; Europe

AEGEE (Association des Etats Généraux des Etudiants de l’Europe / European Students’ Forum) is a student organisation that promotes co-operation, communication and integration amongst young people in Europe. As a non-governmental, politically independent and non-profit organisation AEGEE is open to students and young professionals from all faculties and disciplines – today it counts 15.000 members, active in more than 230 university cities in 42 European countries, making it the biggest interdisciplinary student association in Europe. All AEGEE events and projects run by the organisation are to be focused on our 4 Fields of Action (Cultural Exchange, Active Citizenship, Higher Education, Peace & Stability) and 3 Focus Areas (European Citizenship, Global Challenges and Intercultural Dialogue). Julia Faeline; Serbia

Julija Felajn (Julia Faeline) is a photographer based in Belgrade dealing with artistic photography. Her photographs are primarily focused on people, expressions, scenery and props. Also in her work there is a strong usage of Photoshop, and is skillful when it comes to photo manipulation, or post production of photos. She has been actively involved with photography last two years, but has been surrounded and interested in it for almost a decade.
