ISWIB - INTERNATIONAL STUDENT WEEK IN BELGRADE

The International Student Week in Belgrade (ISWiB) is a youth festival which has been traditionally held every year since 2006 in the capital city of Serbia, Belgrade. The Festival is open for young people who are between 18 and 30 years old from all over the world.
Every year ISWiB gathers over 200 young people, including participants, promoters, moderators and volunteers.
By promoting the idea of the “Citizen of Europe” and “Citizen of the World” we insist on embracing intercultural and European values and bringing them to a global level of mutual respect and understanding.
The guiding idea of the festival is binding young people from different cultural and social surroundings through socializing, but also working on several various workshops. Through these workshops, close communication and cooperation, interactive lectures and various open activities, young people will be able to gain new knowledge and exchange ideas. They will also have the opportunity to establish professional contacts with eminent professors and experts from different sectors and develop and create their own new projects.
The Festival is a part of SOrCE network and has been traditionally organized by the association World Youth Wave.
SORCE - STUDENTS ORGANIZING CONFERENCES EVERYWHERE
SOrCE is a network that has been connecting international festivals and youth conferences for many years now. It was launched in 1993 and the list of conferences and festivals that run through the network has been changing ever since.
Currently, there are eight international student festivals within it:
- ISWinT (International Student Week in Timisoara)
- GrIStuF (Greifswald International Students Festival)
- ISWiB (International Student Week in Belgrade)
- SCiM (Student Conference in Maribor)
- ISWI (International Student Week in Ilmenau)
- ISFiT (International Student Festival in Trondheim)
- ISWiP (International Student Week in Pakistan)
- ISWiT (International Student Week in Tunisia)
SOrCE members have been working on strengthening the network and increasing internal cooperation so that the members could share experiences, learn from each other and improve the quality of their festivals and conferences. SOrCE has no official headquarters – it is where its members are.
Even though the festivals are fully independent, they are gathered around the same idea. That idea is to bring together young people from all over the world, and discuss relevant issues they face on a daily basis, but also experience unforgettable moments, meet new people and learn about different cultures in an interesting and unique way.
