VOLUNTEERS

Each year the festival brings together about 50-60 volunteers, who are motivated, young people, actively involved in the festival and help to make it happen. Through this project, they gain a lot of knowledge and experience, as well as the chance to get to meet different people from all around the world and share their opinions and views about different current subjects.

Hello adventurer!

We need your help to make ISWiB, the biggest youth festival in south-east Europe, happen! By doing so you will get the chance to meet over 200 people from all over the world (more than 50 countries!) and have one of the best summers of your life in the capital of Serbia – Belgrade!

We’re looking for motivated, open-minded individuals passionate about cultural exchange! This is your chance to be part of something special and gain valuable experience while playing a vital role in making this International Student Week in Belgrade unforgettable! 

There are 4 volunteer sectors that you can apply for if you:

  • Are available from 02.08. to 10.08.2024,
  • Live in or have accommodation in Belgrade during these dates,
  • Are between 18 and 30 years old,
  • Can speak Serbian and English.

Each of the 4 volunteer sectors has their own coordinator and the sectors are:

INFO & HOST

Info & Host volunteers will work one in three shifts – morning, afternoon and night.

Your daily tasks will include:

  • Welcoming and greeting the international participants,
  • Hosting and organizing fun activities for the Chill zone,
  • Providing necessary information to all ISWiB participants during the festival,
  • Finding ways to bond the participants, volunteers and the organizing team,
  • Taking care of and managing the info booth and room keys,
  • Having daily meetings with their coordinator.

This sector is for you, if you are or would like to be:

  • Kind and approachable,
  • Polite and patient,
  • Welcoming and pleasant.

 

GROUP GUIDE (GG)

GG volunteers will work in pairs and have an all day shift. The pairs will be assigned to a group of approximately 15 participants and get the chance to attend the groups workshop alongside them! 

Your daily tasks will include:

  • Guiding the participants to and from the workshops,
  • Occasionally bringing the participants to and from the locations of afternoon activities ,
  • Participating in the workshops,
  • Connecting the participants within their group,
  • Addressing participants inquires,
  • Waking the participants up in the morning,
  • Having daily meetings with their coordinator.

This sector is for you, if you are or would like to be:

  • Outgoing and friendly,
  • Energetic and reliable,
  • Proactive and communicative.

PHOTO & VIDEO

Photo & Video volunteers need to have their own camera (analog cameras do not count!!) and they work in two shifts – day and night.

Your daily tasks will include:

  • Taking photos/videos of the workshops and activities,
  • Capturing the festival atmosphere,
  • Editing and uploading the photos/videos,
  • Making an aftermovie for the festival,
  • Having daily meetings with their coordinator.

This sector is for you, if you are or would like to:

  • Be at the heart of the action, capturing the energy and excitement of the festival,
  • Advance your skills in photography, videography and editing,
  • Build your portfolio by creating content of workshops, events and parties.

LOGISTICS

Logistics volunteers will work in two shifts.

Your daily tasks will include:

  • Setting-up venues for workshops and activities,
  • Providing and transporting all the necessary accessories for events,
  • Supplying participants with food and beverages,
  • Managing the storage and supplies,
  • Following the logistics plan,
  • Having daily meetings with their coordinator.

This sector is for you, if you are:

  • Dependable and precise,
  • Follow-through and detail-oriented,
  • A team player and problem solver.

What will happen once you decide to apply?

  • The first step is to fill out an application form where you will choose your favorite two sectors,
  • Next, we will invite you for an interview with the coordinators,
  • If selected, you will have three training sessions before the festival,
  • And finally, you will get the chance to experience ISWiB.
