Folk & Traditional Music
Creating bridges with every step
The “Passport in Motion” workshop presents traditional dance and music in a creative and interactive way. Instead of only learning fixed choreographies, participants explore different cultural styles through movement and rhythm. The workshop is designed as a journey through several “cultural stations,” each representing a different part of the world. At each station, participants learn a basic movement pattern and experience a specific rhythm that reflects the spirit and identity of that culture.
The focus of the workshop is not only on copying dance steps, but on understanding how culture influences movement, music and expression. Participants are encouraged to interpret the movements in their own way and add a personal touch to what they learn. This makes the experience more dynamic and meaningful, as tradition becomes something alive and adaptable rather than something static.
As the workshop progresses, participants choose elements from different cultural stations and combine them into their own short movement sequence. These individual sequences are then brought together into one collective choreography. The final performance represents unity through diversity, showing how different cultural influences can come together to create something new and shared. The workshop helps participants develop body awareness, creativity and intercultural understanding, using dance as a universal language that connects people beyond borders.
